Talk one: Gian Manik
If you’ve stepped into the Lawson Flats Studio, you will no doubt have been captivated by the three striking paintings hanging in the space.
Commissioned by curator Annika Kristensen for the Lawson Flats Inaugural Art Collection -- these paintings by Perth-raised, Melbourne-based painter, Gian Manik, demonstrate his incredible skill at conveying emotional and compositional intensity through his ‘compulsion to paint’. Created specifically in response to the history and context of Lawson Flats, we are so thrilled to have works by a painter with such innate skill and unbridled talent in our permanent collection.
