‘An evening with a woman who spends too much time alone in the bush hiking and thinking about Australian history, and everything currently wrong with it, but then occasionally ventures into towns to dig through their archives only to become even more frustrated over the amount of incredible women whose contributions have been actively erased’.
Sita Sargeant founded Canberra-based walking tour company, ‘She Shapes History’, after becoming fed up with the lack of accessible and engaging women's history in Australia. She’s currently traveling across the country, researching and writing a women's history travel guide to Australia. As she passes through Perth, we’ve invited Sita to Lawson Flats to discuss her journey, not only across the country, but also in communicating our national history (and the women missing from it).
All welcome! Doors from 5pm for a 6pm start. The talk will run for about an hour with the opportunity for questions (and chatting!) afterwards.
