SOCIAL CHESS + DJ AT LAWSON FLATS
Start the month the best way possible. We’ll bring the boards, and you bring your moves.
Members, guests, all are welcome. Learn to play, take it seriously, or watch with a negroni in hand.
Your host Talina is joined by guest DJ Ephacy this October.
Ephacy (she/her) is a Boorloo-based DJ, radio presenter, curator, party organiser and co-founder of independent community radio station Radio Cazimi, whose work is interwoven with the city’s evolving underground. A founding member of the collective Sealed Section, co-curator of the hot and heavy Hornay Saunay parties, curator of the re-me-dē mix series, and voice of Full Frequency on RTRFM alongside Skylab Radio’s Steam Xone, she has spent years contributing to and cultivating dancefloors across Western Australia and beyond - producing independent events and shaping spaces defined by freedom, expression and immersive sound. In the club, her sound draws from early 2000s progressive house and tech house, weaving in dubby textures, swampy low-end and flashes of pop sensibility. Moving fluidly between drive and depth, she builds sets that feel immersive and considered - music that breathes, swells and draws dancers together. Beyond the dancefloor, her selections extend into ambient, downtempo and other spacious, listening-focused sounds. Whether behind the decks or behind the scenes, Ephacy approaches music as a shared ritual: a space for expression, collective movement and genuine connection.
